H&H sponsored and attended the 25th Annual NCBA Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Section Annual Meeting held April 26-27 in Wilmington, NC. H&H is a long-time sponsor and attendee at this event which brings together the top attorneys in NC for continuing education on cutting edge issues related to the environment, energy and natural resources.

Leo Moretz and Brian Smith of the Raleigh office attended the North Carolina Certified Commerical Investment Member Luncheon March 13th. The focus of the meeting was the 2013 Triangle Real Estate Market Forecast.

H&H is providing environmental consulting services for construction of New Belgium's east coast brewery on a Brownfield's site in Asheville. We are working with NC DENR and New Belgium to safely redevelop the site, including plans to reuse impacted soil for deeper structural fill and to cover impacted areas of the site with clean surface soil.

H&H recently ranked as the #1 Environmental Consulting Firm in the Charlotte area by the Charlotte Business Journal for the second consecutive year!!!

A Raleigh Brownfield site assessed and cleaned up by H&H under contract to the City of Raleigh will be developed as an affordable housing project geared toward artists. The assessment and cleanup was completed using USEPA Brownfield Grant funds. The assessment and cleanup work allowed the City to successfully market a dilapated warehouse that will soon provide a place for artists and others to live and work in an affordable environment near downtown Raleigh.

Hart & Hickman was recently noted in the Asheville Citizen-Times for providing environmental consulting services for a soil and groundwater project at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville.
