Project: Toxic Air Pollutant Evaluation and Modeling
Hart & Hickman performed a toxic air pollutant evaluation and air dispersion modeling at the request of the local air permitting agency in Charlotte, NC. Hart & Hickman demonstrated that the facility toxic air pollutant emissions did not exceed regulatory levels using mass balance, process knowledge, and air dispersion modeling. The agency concurred with Hart & Hickman’s analysis and has not required further action for facility air toxic emissions.

Project: Air Emission Permit Modification
A confidential client sought a permit modification to allow greater throughput at a North Carolina distribution terminal. As part of our activities, Hart & Hickman verified mechanical configurations of the vapor recovery system and loading rack, verified operating practices at the facility were consistent with the calculation assumptions, proofed emission rate calculations prepared by the client, and calculated tank emission rates using emission simulation software. Hart & Hickman also discussed the system performance with the manufacturer of the vapor recovery unit to confirm the system is capable of meeting the more stringent discharge criteria with no modification. The necessary permitting forms were completed and forwarded to the regulatory authority for approval.
